Slough AGM REPORT

2006 was the 20th birthday of Beaver Scouting. In July last year we enjoyed a birthday party where we played traditional party games and also had a huge birthday cake. This was very well attended and was enjoyed by all.

We have also enjoyed 2 very successful sleepovers. The first was in March last year at Southall. This sleepover was based on the Outdoor Challenge badge. We arranged different activities for the Beavers to take part in to gain this badge. The 2nd sleepover was in September last year. We spent the day at the Maritime Museum working towards the Explorer badge and then we headed back to 1st Langley to enjoy sausage & chips and a film before bedtime.

In November we enjoyed another successful Children in Need day..

In the last year Caroline Hayward, Leader at 1st Langley, gained her Wood Badge and we have welcomed new Beaver Leaders, Suzanne and Helen, at 2nd Cippenham who are re-opening the Colony there. They had an intro night 2 weeks ago and their first official evening is this Wednesday. There has also been a Leader change at Britwell with Cheryl taking over and Linda, her mum, taking on the ABSL role..

2007 is a busy year and there are a lot of activities being arranged for the District as a whole. At the Centenary Camp this weekend we have around 30 Beavers attending - around 10 of them are sleeping over. There will also be another sleepover arranged for later in the year.. Our annual Children in Need day will also be run as part of the Centenary party for all the sections in the District. No other activities are planned currently due to the number of Centenary activities planned.

All the Colonies are running well and all are working towards the activity and challenge badges and there have also been some Bronze Awards presented.

I would like to say thank you to all the Leaders for their continued support over the last year. We have enjoyed some fantastic activities and these will continue. I would also like to say thank you and good luck to all the new Leaders we have gained, Cheryl & Linda at 1st Britwell and Suzanne & Helen at 2nd Cippenham.
