New Scout Group Opens >

21st July 2008, Slough Scouts founded a new Scout Group in Colnbrook Scout Group, when they invested 40 young people from Colnbrook.

The project started back in October 2007 when the district development team first investigated if Colnbrook had a requirement for a youth service such as scouting.

After months of hard working and building a team of local people the group finally opened its doors in mid-June.

Mark Foster Assistant District Commissioner for Development said this project has taken Slough Scouts into new areas such as working closer with local schools and the parish council. We came to Colnbrook and said if you want a scout group, you will have to help us build it. I am so pleased to report this community has embraced Scouting. However the project has just begun and we have plans to open sections for older young people in the very near future.
