SLOUGH EXPLORERS
Explorer Scouts are young people aged between 14 and 18 years of age.
They make up the fourth section of the scouting family.
Explorer Scouts are different from the other sections in that they are district based and not group based. Which means being an Explorer Scout you could join in any of the activities from any of the units in the district.
eg. You normally go to Discovery ESU but you see from the programme, Resolution are doing climbing. You would be quite welcome to attend the Resolution meeting and vice versa (the only proviso is you contact the leader and say you are coming and pay a nominal fee if a normal unit night or the cost of the activity)
There will be times when you will be busy doing other things such as exams, and being an Explorer Scout will have to fit around these.
As an Explorer Scout, you will get the chance to work with other Explorer Scouts in your district, not just your unit. By doing this, you will get the chance to do many more activities, not just the ones your unit organises.
